Since 1994, Lisa's Rascals Daycare has been a home-away-from-home for hundreds of Laurel, Maryland families. Our story is one of dedication, community, and a deep love for children.

In my home daycare, I believe children thrive best in a loving, safe, and family-like environment. Every child who walks through our door is treated with care, patience, and respect, just like one of our own.
I focus on creating a space where children feel comfortable, secure, and free to be themselves. Through daily routines, play, and gentle guidance, I help build confidence, kindness, and independence at each child's own pace.
Learning happens naturally here — through play, creativity, conversation, and exploration. Whether it's sharing, problem-solving, or discovering something new, I support each child as they grow socially, emotionally, and academically.
I understand how important it is for parents to trust who they leave their children with. That's why I value open communication, honesty, and building strong relationships with families. I am committed to supporting each child's development and well-being.
Above all, my goal is to provide a warm, happy place where children feel loved, supported, and excited to learn every day.
30 Years, One Mission
The Beginning
Lisa opens Lisa's Rascals Daycare in Laurel, Maryland with a small group of children and a big heart. Word quickly spreads throughout the community.
Growing the Family
Demand grows and the center expands its capacity. The Toddler Program and Preschool Program are officially launched as structured offerings.
Pre-K & After School Launch
The Pre-Kindergarten program and After School Care are added, responding to working parents who needed trusted care for older children too.
30 Years & Still Going Strong
Lisa's Rascals celebrates 30 years of serving the Laurel community. The second generation of families — children of former students — are now enrolling their own kids.

- 1 Safety is the first thing parents ask about. Lisa holds a current Maryland state license, pediatric CPR certification, first aid training, and completes child development and health & safety coursework every single year — not once, on renewal.
- 2 Children adjust faster here than parents expect. Because the group is small and the setting is home-based, new children settle in quickly. Lisa's consistent daily routine — outdoor play, structured learning, meals, rest — gives children the predictability they need to feel safe in an unfamiliar place.
- 3 Every child is known, not managed. Lisa's philosophy is that children learn best when they feel genuinely seen. After 30 years, she can read a child's mood at drop-off and adjust the morning accordingly. That is not something a large center can offer.
- 4 What parents say most often: their children didn't want to leave at pickup. Across 50 families and 30 years, that is the compliment Lisa hears more than any other.
